Lake County Historical Society
During the week of July 14, 2009, volunteers from The Great Lakes Construction Co. helped the Lake County Historical Society get ready to relocate four educational buildings used in their Pioneer School Program. Great Lakes provided time, materials and equipment necessary to prepare the foundations to receive these buildings at their new site. From excavation to pouring footers to laying gravel, these were large jobs that when completed, helped inspire other community organizations and private individuals to donate money necessary to pay the high relocation costs of physically moving the four buildings. The Lake County History Center is very grateful for this large contribution provided by the volunteers of The Great Lakes Construction Company.
The buildings that were relocated included an authentic, hand-hewn log cabin constructed in 1813, a one room little red school house, a smaller log building used as a replica blacksmith shop and a gazebo used to house Lake County’s Ohio Bicentennial Bell cast in 2004.
Because of the generous volunteers of Great Lakes, we can make sure that Pioneer School continues to be as successful and loved by school children for many years to come. For more information please go to: www.lakehistory.org.

2009 Relay for Life of Richfield/Bath, Ohio.
The 2009 Relay for Life is an opportunity for people to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams camped out at a local high school, park, or fairground, and took turns walking or running around a track or path. This relay is an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length. GLC teamed up with Sun Belt Rentals and donated two light towers to enable the participants to see throughout the night.
United Way - Coats for Kids
During the annual United Way Campaign, Great Lakes donated $5 to the “Coats for Kids” project for every $25 contribution by Great Lakes employees. This donation helps Job and Family Services in Medina County purchase new coats for kids in low income families.
