US-6 Bascule Bridge over the Black River

My co-op experience with Great Lakes Construction was the best possible experience I could have hoped for since I returned to Cleveland State. Starting a new career can be stressful, but working at Great Lakes as a co-op gave me the confidence in my decision. Every employee made me feel welcomed and was eager to answer any questions I had. Technically speaking, Great Lakes encouraged me to take on responsibilities that other companies may not have. Working on the Lorain Bascule Bridge was extremely cool and working with Mark Hillis, Al Leonard and Jim Fox only added to the experience. Thank you Great Lakes!

Steelyard Commons Demolition

I was a Co-op with Great Lakes for the site development of what is now Steelyard Commons in Cleveland, Ohio. My experience was extremely valuable, challenging, and rewarding. The work in the field not only enhanced my understanding of concepts from the classroom, but it also introduced me to some of the real-world aspects of engineering that can only be learned through experience. Everyone that I met and worked with helped to make my experience so enjoyable. Looking back on my college career, I can confidently say that becoming a Co-op with Great Lakes was one of the best decisions I could have made.

I-77 from V.ODOM to Ghent Road Reconstruction

Working for Great Lakes Construction for four semesters as a co-op has been very rewarding and educational. All of the Great Lakes employees that I have worked with have been very kind and allowed me to take from my experience just as much as I put in. The experience not only allowed me to see what the industry is like, but it also provided me with real world examples of classroom theory in the field.
